Edinburgh, Scotland

Edinburgh is the capital of Scotland - a compact metropolis with a great wealth of history and culture depicting its country's development through the ages. Regarded as one of the greenest, and architectually most beautiful cities in Europe, Edinburgh remains one of the world's top tourist destinations.

The city centre is divided into the Old Town and New Town. To the north of Edinburgh Castle, the New Town is home to the city's main shopping district, national art galleries and grand townhouses. To the south, Edinburgh's Old Town is a winding network of cobbled streets, boutique hotels and restaurants and The University of Edinburgh - one of Europe's oldest academic institutes.

The conference is taking place during the world famous Edinburgh Festival. Each August the city of Edinburgh hosts the largest annual cultural festival in the world which attracts thousands of visitors to the city. With a population normally of over 450,000 this figure increase to well over a million during August. Hosting the conference during the Festival will provide delegates and their families with a social programme to meet every possible taste and budget. It does mean however we cannot stress how important it is to book your accommodation as soon as possible. We recommend booking accommodation before May 2014. After this time availability will decrease dramatically and prices will increase significantly.
